Detailed Program

LEADERSHIP, SELF-LEADERSHIP & PEOPLE MANAGEMENT

Led by Alberto Ribera – Professor of Leadership & Self-leadership (retired), IESE Business School | Executive Coach | Visiting Professor, IPE Business School

This module is designed to develop the essential leadership skills required to effectively lead individuals and teams at all levels of the organisation. It begins with self-leadership, which is fundamental for inspiring others by example, and moves on to the ability to influence and strategically motivate collaborators. Through case studies and proven tools, the course provides the levers to increase engagement, motivation, and a sense of belonging within the team—crucial elements for those leading the finance function. Best practices will be shared on how to support people in giving their best over time, fostering an environment geared towards the achievement of common goals.

CORPORATE AND CONSOLIDATED FINANCIAL STATEMENTS, INTEGRATED REPORTING

Led by Matteo Troisi – Head of Management Control, La Regina di San Marzano Group

This module focuses on the consolidation of financial statements, addressing both regulatory aspects and general rules concerning the different consolidation methodologies applicable in various contexts. It also explores preparatory activities for consolidation, with particular reference to reporting and information flows, as well as the processes and procedures required for drafting consolidated financial statements.

STRATEGIC PLANNING

Led by Luca Testa – Partner, Boston Consulting Group (BCG)

This module addresses the entire strategic planning process, in which the finance function plays a crucial supporting role. It begins with the concept of strategic planning itself—what it means, why it is vital for a company’s success, who the key players are within the organisation—and proceeds to business goal setting, budgeting, and the design of progressive monitoring systems.

STRATEGY INTO ACTION

Led by Fabrizio Ferraro – Professor of Strategy, IESE Business School

This module focuses on the challenge of strategic implementation from the perspective of the finance function. Too often, companies develop strategies that fail to translate into real organisational change, and therefore do not deliver the desired results. The objective is to enable participants to act as true partners in the CEO’s decision-making and strategic processes.

THE FINANCIAL STATEMENT AS A DECISION-MAKING TOOL

Led by Antonio Ricciardi – Dean, IPE Business School

The aim of this module is to provide a strategic perspective on financial statements and income statements as tools for supporting business decisions aimed at achieving sustainable growth while ensuring adequate liquidity to operate and expand. Emphasis will be placed on the financing required for the company’s day-to-day operations, production and logistics phases, budgeting, and the design of an effective control system.

CORPORATE FINANCE

Led by Rafael Franco – Professor of Financial Accounting, AESE Business School | Managing Partner, Kaiten Capital Advisors Lda

The "Corporate Finance" module is designed to give participants an in-depth understanding of the daily financial management of a business. Key topics include liquidity management, working capital, financial planning, and cash flow control. The focus is on optimising financial resources to ensure business stability and sustainability. Through practical cases and operational tools, participants will learn to make effective financial decisions. The module also covers short-term financing instruments and strategies to improve business profitability.

BUSINESS VALUATION & EXTRAORDINARY TRANSACTIONS

Led by Giovanni De Caro – CEO, Volano
and Marco Fiorentino – Founder & Senior Partner, Fiorentino Associati

This module presents methods and operational principles for business valuation and major extraordinary financial transactions. Using real case studies, best practices in business valuation and the dynamics of such operations will be explored with a critical eye towards their objectives and specific features. Special attention will be given to equity restructuring in light of the recent tax reform, with a focus on M&A, intercompany transactions, generational transitions, and corporate restructuring. The negotiation process of companies will also be examined, highlighting strategies, compliance requirements, risks, and common pitfalls, with references to real-world experiences.

CYBER RISK FOR CFOs

This module equips CFOs with essential skills to understand and manage cyber risks in an increasingly digital environment. Participants will explore key cyber threats, compliance regulations, and financial risk mitigation strategies, while gaining practical tools for integrating cybersecurity into corporate management. The module meets the training requirements set by the NIS 2 Directive and Legislative Decree 138/2024, which mandate periodic cybersecurity training for all organisational levels, including executives.

COMPLIANCE MODELS FOR CFOs

Led by Carlo Lubrano – CFO & Director of General Affairs, IPE Business School

This module delves into the strategic role of the CFO in the design, implementation, and monitoring of corporate compliance processes. Particular attention is given to process design, internal control system governance, and auditing, with a focus on key regulations: Legislative Decree 231/2001 (corporate criminal liability), Law 262/2005 (financial reporting and market regulation), and anti-bribery laws. Through best practices and real cases, participants will acquire concrete tools to ensure transparency, integrity, and legal compliance, while strengthening their internal control systems and reducing corporate risk.

NON-FINANCIAL REPORTING, SUSTAINABLE FINANCE & ESG RATING

Led by Pablo Degli Innocenti – Chief Innovation & Sustainability Advisor

This module addresses sustainability and provides tools and methods to successfully manage it across the areas involving the finance department: from ESG-oriented investment evaluation and sustainability ratings to all aspects of non-financial reporting, including sustainability reports and impact statements.

BUSINESS ETHICS & THE VALUE OF WORK

Led by Antonio Ricciardi – Dean, IPE Business School
and Enzo Arborea – Head of Research, IPE Business School

Business ethics is a key element in building sustainable and responsible organisations. This module tackles major ethical dilemmas in corporate decision-making, providing tools to integrate ethics and social responsibility into business processes. Through practical case studies, participants will learn to balance economic goals with ethical values, fostering a transparent and robust corporate culture. The module also explores the value of work—its impact on quality of life, interpersonal dynamics, and its social dimension. Topics such as the meaning of work, motivation, and the relationship between organisational well-being and performance will be covered, with the aim of fostering fairer, more productive, and human-centred workplaces.

PUBLIC AND INCENTIVISED FINANCE

Led by Ivo Allegro – Founder & CEO, Iniziativa

This module provides an overview of innovation development and related funding opportunities through direct and indirect R&D support programmes. The goal is to transfer core knowledge on financing research and innovation activities, enabling CFOs to align these opportunities with the company’s strategic needs and the range of national and European programmes and tools available.
